Hello everybody. If you were lucky enough to have attended any of Cathy's workshops at the Deni Uke Muster I'm sure you'll be very keen to hear about these two events - "Expand Your Chord Library" and the "October Uke Challenge". They sound like great ways to increase your skills in the Covid safe environment of your own home. Cathy says you will cover much more than just the James Hill material, which is the starting point in this series of workshops. Please share this information with your own groups or anyone else you feel might be interested.

It is with profound regret that we have reached the decision to cancel the Deni Uke Muster Festival this year. We're sure that you have heard words like unprecedented circumstances and uncertain times all too often, but this is the reality of our situation. The amount of volunteer time and effort required to set festival preparations in motion is considerable in the months leading up to the opening of ticket sales in September. This year we cannot plan effectively because we cannot know what the safe distancing requirements will be in November, nor whether the spaces available to us for workshops, performances and meals will support the numbers we need to make the festival viable.
Despite our disappointment, we remain enthusiastic about bringing you a fabulous festival next year. We have some terrific presenters who have been asked to put us in their diaries for 2021 (but we can't tell you who just yet). In the meantime, stay well and keep a-strumming and a-picking :). We are pleased to announce this first step on the road to our festival becoming more environmentally friendly. Thank you to those who requested this in their festival feedback and especially to the committee members who have taken on this project with determination and enthusiasm.
This year we are replacing single-use plastics and instead serving meals with cardboard or reusable plates and cutlery. You are welcome to bring your own reusable plates and cutlery for the Friday night dinner and Saturday and Sunday lunches and we will have volunteers on hand to wash and return them. We will also be providing dedicated return/recycle bins for disposal of single-use drink containers. Registrations are now open for our 2019 Festival and it's going to be another fabulous one! Registrations close on 1 November or earlier if sold out. Workshop numbers are limited so register early to ensure you get your first pick.

Mark your diaries, set your alarm clock or program you phone - do whatever you need to do so you won't miss out on what looks like being another fabulous festival. We can't wait to catch up with our friends from previous years and meet some new faces too.
We are so excited to announce this year's presenters and workshops. Check them out! As well as a fine selection of workshops providing a variety of choices for players of all levels to enhance their skills, we have crafted a stream of workshops for beginners; so tell your friends. Better yet, if you are going to bring a guest, why not kit them out with a uke and get them to sign up too? Registrations will open next month, so watch this space and we'll keep you posted. It's going to be another great year!
Be sure to mark your diaries for this year's Deni Uke Muster Festival, which will be held from Friday 15th November to Sunday 17th November 2019. We have a great line up of presenters and can't wait immerse ourselves in the festivities. Tickets will go on sale early in September. Watch this space for further updates.
The Deni Uke Muster Festival for 2018 is almost full but we have some spaces left in workshops that we are opening up to local ukologists. If you would like to attend one or more workshops, please contact us via the contact page on our website or by Facebook message. Workshops are $20 per person (adult) and $10 (under 18) and are suitable for young people in year 6 and up. To see details of the workshops, go to 2018 Workshops. Available workshops: Saturday 9.30-11am
If you haven't registered for the 2018 festival yet, get a move on. We've extended the registration closing date until this Friday 9th November so you have four days to complete your registration and make payment. There are spaces left in all but four of the workshops so there's still a chance for you to get your Bowie on with The Thin White Ukes or to visit ukulele heaven with AJ Leonard and Jenny Rowlands. If you want to leave your cake out in the rain with Richard G or find your inner gypsy with Angie and Cathy then now's your chance. Don't miss what is shaping up to be our best Festival ever!
We have posted demos of the three flash mob songs for the 2018 festival on our video page. Click here to view them or go to the Videos page in the menu. They are:
