Wild Women Make for a Fun Night

What fun it was to catch up with some of our Deni Uke Muster mates last Tuesday; and to meet some new friends who travelled from Hay to join us.  The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach, aka Cathy (Fast Fingers) Welsford and Angie (Random Chords)  Smith kept us well entertained with their workshop and mini concert.  There were also delicious food and a few drinks to sustain us during the intermission, which allowed us to catch up whilst Cathy and Angie set the scene, as pictured below, for their performance.  Just how much more could we have packed into 2 hours on a school night!
The Queen workshop had us strumming and singing along to classics like We Will Rock You, You're My Best Friend, Bohemian Rhapsody and more (but thankfully not Fat Bottomed Girls, which is a little too close to home for this attendee, even if we do make the rocking world go round!).  There was a little bit of finger picking for those who felt like having a go and we even managed to fit in an original blues number, written by Cathy and Angie - Seaside Blues.  The content was perfectly pitched (musical pun intended) at those with intermediate, but somewhat rusty, ukulele skills.
The mini concert had us entertained with more originals by Cathy and Angie, one of which introduced us to the harp ukulele.  Poetry, humour and real lyrics from the heart delivered by real people.  We finished the night with our ukuleles and voices belting out the Four Non Blondes classic "What's Up".  Thank you to all involved.
